Commuting On Monorail Or Light Rail For 4 Per Day

Sydney has plenty of great sights and experiences to offer to anyone visiting the city, but it is also home to a lot of people who work there during the week.  There are plenty of different ways to get around the city – on foot, by bike and by car for example – but there are two other cost effective ways to commute into town as well, without having to worry about where you are going to park (or how much it is going to cost you) when you get there.

The first one is the Sydney Monorail system, which runs on a circular loop around many of the main attractions in Sydney.  These areas hold the workplaces of many of Sydney’s citizens and as such the Monorail provides an ideal way to get from A to B in a stylish fashion!  You certainly get a great view of the city as you make your way to and from work every day.

The fares are also very reasonable, with the best bet for a commuter being the Metrocard.  This is a reusable card which you can buy for $20, and you will get six trips on the Monorail for that price – meaning each trip costs just $3.33.  You can also top this card up whenever you like and enjoy additional rides to and from work for just $2.50 each.

The Light Rail system runs from the east of the city through to the west, terminating at the Central Station stop near Chinatown.  The fare you will pay depends on whether you are travelling along the whole route or just a section of it, but wherever you are travelling from you will find the fares to be extremely good – especially considering you are travelling on one of the greenest forms of transport there is.
