Visiting Sydney Wildlife World Via The Monorail Or Light Rail
If you are looking for something to do when you are in Sydney you are literally spoilt for choice. The city is packed with opportunities to spend the day shopping, exploring or simply browsing round and enjoying all kinds of different experiences.
But one of the best all day excursions you could go on is to visit the Sydney Wildlife World. It’s a great day out for anyone, but if you are visiting the area as a tourist it gives you a wonderful opportunity to see the best of Australia’s wildlife while you are in the country.
It’s open for thirteen hours a day so you’ll have plenty of time to explore, and it’s easy to get to as well, thanks to the fact that both the Sydney Monorail and the light rail systems stop nearby. If you are taking the Monorail you will need to get off at the Darling Park stop, near Darling Harbour. It will then take you just a few minutes to walk to the attraction.
If you are travelling into the area via the light rail, you should get off at the Convention stop. You’ll have a slightly longer walk to reach Sydney Wildlife World from here, but it’s certainly a pleasant one which takes in Pyrmont Bridge and Darling Harbour as well. If you don’t want to walk and a trip on the Monorail sounds more attractive, then you can hop on it and take a scenic trip to the stop you need at Darling Park.
Sydney Wildlife World itself gives you a unique taster of Australia without leaving the city. Your surroundings will change beyond belief as soon as you step through the gates and get inside, where all kinds of delights await you. The Wildlife World is filled with different habitats, each playing host to a variety of native animals, reptiles and birds of all kinds.
One of the most popular has to be the koala sanctuary. The koala is the animal which most people identify as being representative of Australia as a whole, and you can actually fuss the koalas as well as seeing them in their habitat. The rainforest habitat is also stunning to view, and contains the cassowary – a bird which is unable to fly.
You can probably see why you would need thirteen hours to get the best out of the whole experience, but once it is time to leave it’s reassuring to know that the Monorail and light rail systems will still be running outside to take you back to your accommodation again. You won’t have to wait long for the next train, whatever time you leave the attraction.
As with the Sydney Wildlife World attraction, there are plenty of other places you can visit during your stay which are just as easy to reach thanks to the availability of the two rail services. Once you have tried them once you’ll find that they are easily the best way to see the sights in Sydney.
